Abilities
-
Strut (Passive) Allows you to move easily around the map, it can help you gank, push and defend towers as required. It also helps you stay safe during the laning phase. -
Double Up Your laning harass tool which also packs on some extra damage mid-late game. Can be used to kill a fleeing enemy effectively aswell. -
Impure Shots Impure Shots is very powerful. It increases your attack speed, reduces healing effects and also increases your damage. Its great in the laning phase to make last hitting easier, while also countering healing potions of your opponent. Don't forget to use this mid-late game for the attack speed boost and the anti-healing effect (great against Vladimir and Dr. Mundo). -
Make It Rain Make it rain allows you to farm minions during the mid-late stage of the game and also helps by slowing large numbers of enemies during team fights. Making it a great defensive and offensive ability. -
Bullet Time (Ultimate) Miss Fortune's ultimate is very powerful but requires a decent amount of channeling and is best used as enemies are approaching or fleeing from you. This skill is all about positioning yourself to hit maximum enemies while staying out of harms way. Its particular powerful when combined with a strong crowd control team.
Ability Order
Ult > Double Up > Impure Shots > Make It Rain
Double Up is maxed first to capitalise on your amazing laning harassment, this combined with armor penetration (and possibly some AD Quints) can devastate opponents early game. Taking one point in Make it Rain early is great at providing you with a slow for defensive and offensive reasons. Impure Shots should be maxed second as it provides you with a free damage boost as well as a solid attack speed boost at a low mana cost.
Runes
Rune Build For Miss Fortune
Yellow (Seals) - Mana Regeneration Per Level // Armor
Blue (Glyphs) - Magic Resistance Per Level // Mana Regeneration Per Level
Purple (Quintessences) - Attack Damage // Health
This rune build gives you a nice amount of starting armor penetration and combined with attack damage quintessences gives you great early game damage (and last hitting ability). Running Mana regeneration on Seals also provides you with some reasonable mana regeneration for early-mid game harassment. While magic resistance on Glyphs gives you some defenses against casters. If you find your running out of mana alot consider also running mana regeneration on Glyphs, if you prefer going toe-to-toe with other ranged carries consider armor to give you that early edge. Health Quintessences can also easily be used if you want a more defensive early game (or simply don't own attack damage Quintessences).
Summoner Spells
Best Summoner Spells:
-Flash
-Ghost
Running Flash and Ghost gives you great mobility allowing you to constantly position yourself correctly in team fights. They also double as defensive summoner spells allowing you to escape from any danger.
Other Good Summoner Spells:
-Ignite
-Exhaust
Exhaust is also a nice summoner spell to take, giving you a great advantage in 1v1 fights. Ignite also works very well with your early game damage and adds to your anti-healing active from Impure Shots.

Masteries

Don't forget to move around mastery points to suit you and your summoner spells.
Item Build
Final Item Build:
-Berserker's Greaves
-Banshee's Veil
-Phantom Dance
-Infinity Edge
-The Bloodthirster
-Last Whisper
Steps/Reasoning:
-Start with a Doran's Blade This gives you some added lane survivability, abit of extra damage to last hit minions with and a small % of life-steal.
-When you return to the shop you want to buy your Berserker's Greaves (Mercury's Treads are also a good option on Miss Fortune, against crowd control heavy teams) and begin building towards an Infinity Edge, if you can't afford any part of the Infinity, you should pick up an extra Doran's Blade and wards as required.
-Once your Infinity Edge is finished, begin building a Phantom Dancer, this will again boost your movement speed slightly and give you some extra attack speed.
-You should be looking to build a Banshee's Veil around this time of the game for protection.
-Your two end game items should be Bloodthirster and Last Whisper
Alternatives:
-Guardian Angel (A good defensive item)
-Madred's Bloodrazor (If the enemy is stacking health)
-Frozen Mallet (adds to your survivability and if you can't get the red lizard buff)
General Miss Fortune Tips
- You should always make sure you cast Make It Rain before your ultimate (Bullet Time) this will make it harder for enemies to escape it, ensuring you deal maximum damage.
- Your ultimate is all about positioning and timing, it is best used at the back of team fights after the enemy crowd control spells have been used. Don't be afraid to cancel your ultimate early, it may save your life.
- Miss Fortune is one of the fastest characters with Strut. Use this to control the map and support your team by ganking lanes aswell as pushing and defending towers.
- Miss Fortune is a very capable 1v1 killer and ganker. Lead them with Make It Rain to prevent them running away and also make use of Exhaust (if you have it).
- Always active Impure Shots when you push a tower, the attack speed bonus will help you deal more damage overall.
Early Game - (Level 1-6)
- Harass with Double Up as much as possible, learn how it works so it always bounces onto an enemy champion. Generally it fires at the closest thing directly behind your original target.
- Don't use Make It Rain unless you need the slowing effect, it drains alot of mana from you early game.
- Make It Rain will allow you to devastate opponents with consistent auto-attacks and can be deadly when combined with Impure Shots.
- Don't forget to last hit minions, it is easy to get carried away with hitting your Double Ups. You can use a well timed Double Up to last hit a minion and harass.
- Using Impure Shots on your enemy after they activate a health potion can drastically reduce its effectiveness.
Mid Game - (Level 7-12)
- Your speed is even more powerful now, be aware of the map and look for enemy champions out of position that you can kill.
- Farm as much as possible during this stage of the game, either through killing enemies, farming minion waves or killing neutrals in the forest.
- If you are getting a lot of free farm consider grabbing a Bloodthirster first instead of an Infinity Edge, this way your ultimate will hurt alot more.
Late Game - (Level 13-18)
- In team fights you should always be ready and well positioned to use your ultimate. As you play Miss Fortune more you will get better at the timing of activating her ult.
- In team fights you should also concentrate on using Impure Shots on any healing based targets (Vladimir, Dr. Mundo etc.)
- Miss Fortune is fairly squishy and should avoid jumping into team fights until the enemies crowd control abilities have been used up.
- It is important to continue to farm at this stage of the game, also grab the appropriate neutral buffs when possible (particularly the red lizard buff).
